Sophie enjoys facilitating movement recovery and optimisation for the following conditions:

- Stroke/CVA

- Traumatic Brain Injury – Head injury

- Spinal Cord injury

- Multiple Sclerosis and other neurodegenerative conditions

- Amputation

On initial assessment, and throughout your treatment, Sophie will take the time to get to know you and your goals and create a plan to work towards them. She draws on many years of experience to provide a personal, realistic, holistic and tailored rehab program including home exercises and aquatic physiotherapy if desired. Both exercise therapy and hands on facilitated movement are used to ensure your body recovers and re-learns in the best possible way. Family and carer training and education needs are also catered for.

Sophie is originally from Melbourne and has lived in the UK and the Netherlands before calling Cairns home since 2006. Currently, weekends are often occupied with trips to nature for camping, junior soccer with the kids or school functions. Yoga and mindfulness play a big part in Sophie’s life and she has also practised KaHuna bodywork for over 14 years.

Sophie is passionate about ensuring that quality rehabilitation is available to all and is excited to now be providing rehabilitation physiotherapy to the Far North at Optimum Physio & Pilates.
